Realme X3 SuperZoom unveiled with 5x optical zoom

Realme launched two more phones this week. One of them is the top of the line Realme X3 SuperZoom, which, as the name implies, stands out for offering up to 60x zoom thanks to a periscopic camera.

Let's get to know all the news that the new high-end Realme brings.

Realme X3 SuperZoom

The Realme X3 SuperZoom is equipped with a quadruple set at the rear, the biggest novelty being the 8 MP and 12 mm periscopic lens that offers 5x optical zoom - responsible for assisting the main sensor of 64 MP to reach the 60x hybrid zoom ( optical + digital).

The specifications complete a 2 MP macro camera and an 8 MP ultrawide camera.

Already revealed a few days ago by Realme, the feature Starry Mode, or "Starry Mode", in free translation, can take pictures of the stars - similar to the Moon Mode of the P30 Pro.

According to the company, the functionality combines both the main and periscopic cameras, in addition to artificial intelligence algorithms, to photograph the starry sky with great clarity and less noise.

In addition to Starry Mode, the photo set features Nightscape 4.0, Nightscape Pro, and Nightscape Ultra, which allow you to enhance night shots with manual adjustments of ISO, shutter speed, autofocus, and white balance.

At the front, there are two IMX616 sensors, developed by Sony, of 32 MP and 8 MP - the latter with ultrawide lens and 105-degree field of view. The front duo makes recording in lens camera, portrait mode and also has a night mode.

Technical characteristics of the Realme X3 SuperZoom

Realme claims that the X3 SuperZoom is equipped with the world's fastest Snapdragon 855+ chip.

The platform is an improved version of the 855, launched in 2018, and features eight Kryo cores with a maximum clock rate of 2.96 GHz.

It works with a respectable 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of internal memory, and 4,200 mAh of battery - with support for 30 W fast charging.

The top-of-the-line front panel has 6.5 inches and Full HD + resolution.

The biggest highlight here is its refresh rate of 120 Hz, present in more expensive models, varying according to supported applications and games to save battery. Due to IPS LCD technology, the fingerprint reader jumped to the side.

6.6-inch, 120 Hz display

The Realme X3 SuperZoom can boast design with a glass-finished back. Its screen reaches 6.6 inches with IPS panel and FullHD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5.

Here we have no notch but we found a double hole in the upper left where its two cameras are housed front.

Its frames are tremendously reduced, proof of this is that it has a front use of more than 90%. Its measurements reach 163.8 x 75.8 x 8.9 mm for a total weight of 202 grams.

Without 5G, but with more than enough power

Inside we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, a powerful high-end chip from the American firm that was released during the second half of last year, and that guarantees excellent performance.

Without a doubt, a great strategy on the part of the firm to obtain great power, reducing the costs that the presence of the Snapdragon 865 would bring with it, also disregarding the compatibility with 5G networks.

We will have memory options to choose from, with 6, 8, and 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with three other storage versions, 64, 128, and 256 GB UFS 3.0.

In addition, it also has the new liquid cooling system to better dissipate heat when we are squeezing it to the maximum. The entire system will run under Android 10 along with the Realme UI customization layer.

60x hybrid zoom

The Chinese company has wanted to hit the table in the photographic section, with the presence of a quad rear camera, commanded by a 64-megapixel (f / 1.8) main sensor.

It is accompanied by a second telephoto lens, 8 megapixels, one of its great attractions by being able to perform a 5x optical zoom, which will allow us to obtain quality photographs from up to 100 meters away.

There's no shortage of an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 119-degree angle of view, for panoramic shots with a wide field of view. Finally, we will have a 2-megapixel sensor to take macro photographs at a distance of 2 centimeters.

Realme X3 Superzoom cameras

The firm makes use of its sensors together with the Artificial Intelligence of the processor to improve night photography shots, making it possible to take photos of the stars with zoom without losing detail, increasing the exposure time with the tripod up to 50 seconds.

On the front, to enjoy our selfies, we will have a double camera with a 32-megapixel main sensor, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor that reaches a viewing angle of 105 degrees, ideal for taking our selfies in the group without anyone being left out of the picture.

We can also record video in bokeh mode with the background out of focus and even in slow motion at up to 120 fps.

4,200 mAh battery and fast charge at 30W

The autonomy section is not far behind, since we will have a powerful battery that reaches 4,200 mAh, which comes accompanied by a fast charge that reaches 30W, and that will allow us to charge the device at 60% in less than an hour.

It is other aspects to highlight is that it has dual SIM, USB Type-C port, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, dual GPS, the fingerprint reader on the side, NFC, as well as Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support for its speakers.
