The leaks pointed to the contrary, but this week, official documents reinforced that Samsung should launch the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra alongside the Note 20 and 20+.

A certification request from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) regulatory body was found, suggesting the existence of the most powerful model, just as there was with the S20 Ultra in February.
Among a series of information recorded by the platform, there is mention of a "Galaxy Note 20 Ultra". Interestingly, the device is caught with the identification code SM-N986U, whose number is associated with the Galaxy Note 20+ in more recent rumors.
After the documents were leaked, however, the page was removed, which leaves the possibility of a possible mistake when referencing this model as Note 20 Ultra and not as Note 20+.
Canceled or not?
Until then, everything indicated that Samsung did not intend to launch an Ultra version of its Note line - even the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, Ross Young, had stated that we should not wait for him.
In other words, the documentation not only contradicts the executive's speech but also reveals the presence of Bluetooth 5.0 technology in the device - and that's all we have so far.
Although there is no confirmation from Samsung, what we have until the launch is to speculate. Recently, a prototype identified as SM-N986U (the same listed in the certification above) made its debut on the Geekbench test platform.
Despite having the same Snapdragon 865 5G processor as the Galaxy S20 Ultra, for example, the results indicate a performance superior to the device launched at the beginning of the year.
Therefore, it is possible to assume two possibilities: Samsung may abandon the "Plus" nomenclature and launch two versions of the family - Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra - or reveal, in fact, three models of the line, with the Ultra version being the most powerful.
With all the problems and delays that companies have been facing due to the new coronavirus, the launch date of the new Galaxy Note 20 is still uncertain, but it will probably happen sometime in the second half.
