PlayStation 5 announcement: check out everything that was revealed at the event

11th May 2020 was the scene of one of the biggest revelations in the video game industry.

PlayStation 5 announcement: check out everything that was revealed at the event

During the global event The Future of Gaming, Sony presented to the world for the first time the face of the PlayStation 5, its new generation video game that will be released in late 2020.

Not to mention technical specifications or price, it surprised not only by displaying the console design but also for confirming that it will have two versions: a traditional one and another called Digitial Edition, which will come without a Blu-Ray player.

The event also served to present more than 20 games that are already confirmed for the PlayStation 5.

Among the exclusives, the highlight was Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon: Forbidden West; beyond them, Capcom confirmed the rumors by showing Resident Evil Village, while Bethesda offered more details of Ghostwire: Tokyo and Rockstar Games announced unnecessary edition "expanded and improved" of Grand Theft Auto V.

Check out everything that was revealed at the PlayStation 5 announcement event below:

Grand Theft Auto V

When The Future of Gaming started, the Rockstar Games logo appeared and many believed that we were about to know the first details of Grand Theft Auto 6.

However, the excitement quickly turned into disappointment, as it was actually the announcement of an unnecessary "expanded and improved" edition of GTA 5 for PlayStation 5.

The game will also be present on the new generation console, undergoing yet another renovation graphics and content expansion.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Marvel's Spider-Man left an excellent hook for a sequel, and it will really happen.

This time, the new game from Insomniac Games will show young Miles Morales taking on the mantle of the Neighborhood Friend to fight crime on the streets of New York.

The title should be part of the PlayStation 5 launch lineup, as its launch is scheduled for the end of 2020.

Gran Turismo 7

Confirming rumors that had already been aired since the beginning of the year, Gran Turismo 7 was announced for the PlayStation 5.

Unlike Sport, the game should bring back classic elements that enshrined the series, in addition to betting on super-detailed graphics using Ray Tracing. The game still has no premiere date.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Sony has been trying to score Ratchet & Clank as their mascots for years, and it looks like it won't soon give up on the idea.

Proof of this is the announcement of Rift Apart as the duo's newest title, which will now venture on interdimensional journeys without any "loading" screen thanks to the SSD capabilities of the PlayStation 5. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has no preview yet Of launching.

Project Athia

Most likely just a codename, Project Athia is the first work of the development team that worked on Final Fantasy XV and founded Luminous.

The trailer showed practically nothing, but we could see that the protagonist is able to control elements of nature and fight fantastic creatures, such as dragons, in a mystical and third-person universe. There is no release forecast.

Stray

With an all-mysterious air, Stray intrigued the event's viewers by showing a futuristic setting in which humans no longer seem to exist.

Instead, cities are populated by robots with artificial intelligence, while the player takes control of a stray cat equipped with a technological backpack. And that's basically it. Stray is expected to arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2021.

Returnal

An endless mix, Returnal uses elements of psychological terror in conjunction with roguelike mechanics, third-person shooter, and lateral movement to tell the story of a woman who lives in a kind of endless loop.

Whenever she dies, she wakes up in a different place and must face monsters that appear behind her. All this while being infected by an evil entity.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

LittleBigPlanet fans will be able to experience a new adventure on PlayStation 5.

Instead of focusing on creating stages, Sackboy: Big Adventure will be a 3D platform title similar to Mario series games, with more free movement in single and multiplayer games.

Destruction All-Stars

A mix of the classic Destruction Derby with elements of OnRush and Rocket League.

That's more or less how you can define Destruction All-Stars, which puts a lot of cars to "fight" in an arena. To destroy opponents, the player will have a series of skills at his disposal.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

With graphics and characters that closely resemble Pixar's animations, Kena is focused on a story of overcoming and discovering people with elements of action and exploration.

The title character needs to help a spirit that is apparently lost and, for that, has a staff that also acts like a bow and arrow.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is promised for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and other undisclosed platforms, but with no release forecast.

Goodbye Volcano High

A playable anime. That was the impression that Goodbye Volcano High left when showing his trailer on The Future of Gaming.

The game will address an adventure about the end of an era and the beginning of a love story, all with anthropomorphic characters. Other than that, it was only revealed that the game will arrive for both PS4 and PS5.

Oddworld: Soulstorm

One of the most overlooked franchises in recent years, Oddworld is back with Soulstorm, which follows Abe's story in a new adventure to combat oppression by the Mudokons. In addition to the graphics, the game should feature new mechanics and gameplay elements.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Another product of the mind of Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil and The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo promises to mix realistic environments with cartoon characters in an adventure of supernatural horror.

Instead of firearms, the player will use special spells and abilities to advance the story. The title is expected to arrive on PlayStation 5 sometime in 2021.

JETT: The Far Shore

With a proposal very similar to that of No Man's Sky, the game will put the player on a stellar adventure to explore unknown places in the universe after humans left Earth.

Godfall

First confirmed game for PlayStation 5, Godfall finally won a trailer with gameplay.

The game will have a medieval ambiance with touches of fantasy and will put the player in frantic combat, full of hordes of enemies. The player can also evolve his character, so it is certain to say that the game will be a loot-slasher with action RPG mechanics.

Solar Ash

Without providing much explanation, the Solar Ash trailer stated that the game will be a "journey into the surreal".

Whatever it means, you can see that the bet is on saturated graphics and high-speed action. The game is expected to arrive sometime in 2021.

Hitman 3

Famous franchise and known by lovers of stealth action, Hitman won a cinematic trailer with breathtaking graphics.

Hitman 3 will be the outcome of the World of Assassination trilogy and will show Agent 47 on missions involving "most important contracts" and luxurious regions like Dubai. The game is scheduled for January 2021.

Astro's Playroom

Betting once again on platform mechanics, Astro's Playroom will have four worlds that will demonstrate the different capabilities and innovations of the new console. The game will come pre-installed on PlayStation 5.

Little Devil Inside

The result of crowdfunding on Kickstarter, Little Devil Inside will feature elements of action RPG and a semi-open world, encouraging the player to explore the environment in search of monsters and creatures.

NBA 2K21

The new iteration of the iconic 2K Sports basketball franchise that has lately been overreacting in microtransactions, NBA 2K21 has won a teaser starring New Orleans Pelicans' forward Zion Williamson.

The focus was to demonstrate the level of detail possible to be achieved in the new generation, highlighting the sweat running down the face and the entire body of the athlete. The forecast is that NBA 2K21 arrives with the launch of PS5.

Bugsnax

From the same creators of the bizarre Octodad, Bugsnax bets once again on dubious ideas by putting the player to control a journalist who goes to a mysterious island to capture curious creatures that resemble foods.

More bizarre than that just the fact that parts of your body become just what you eat.

Demon's Souls

Considered by many to be a cult classic on PlayStation 3, Demon's Soul was the genesis of the "souslike" genre, which privileges enemies and extremely difficult challenges.

Now, he'll get a remake to get a lot of people to throw the PlayStation 5 controller out the window.

Deathloop

Betting heavily on artistic styles, the FPS Deathloop resembles, to some extent, BioShock. That's because the game has time manipulation mechanics and special abilities, which the character will have to use to escape the time loop to which he is stuck.

To do this, he needs to kill eight enemies who are holding him in the same day and deal with an assassin whose goal is to stop him from fulfilling that goal.

Deathloop will be a temporary PlayStation 5 exclusive in the new generation, featuring versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Resident Evil Village

After two remakes, Resident Evil is back to the numbered titles with Resident Evil Village.

The game will bring back Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan Winters, living a new nightmare in a European village taken over by infected people and creatures that resemble werewolves.

Who is also back is Chris Redfield, and apparently he will be the big villain of the plot. Resident Evil Village will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox One X, and PC in 2021.

Pragmata

For those who thought Capcom only knew how to do Resident Evil, it also introduced Pragmata, whose trailer explained absolutely nothing about what it is about.

The only thing I could extract from the video was that it will have combat mechanics for shooting and futuristic ambiance. The game is expected to be released sometime in 2022.

Horizon: Forbidden West

The rumors have been confirmed and the sequel to the acclaimed Horizon: Zero Dawn is coming. Aloy will once again be the protagonist and now has a mission to save the world from a different threat.

The game does not yet have a release date, but it will be exclusive to the PS5.
